TROPICAL FORESTS The destruction of the tropical forests not only takes away the livelihood of indigenous peoples, but creates a crisis for the Earth's environment by causing desertification, killing off tropical species, and increasing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere. It is a serious problem for all of humanity.
